The AE 1 featured a honeycomb structure. The AE 2 showcased fang-like geometries. The AE 3 incorporates arrows?triangular TPU overlays rising from the side panels and pointing toward the toe?creating a silhouette that looks like it?s in constant motion, even when standing still. It is the model`s most talked-about visual detail, making it instantly recognizable and bringing back the aggressive, futuristic aesthetic of the AE 1 to the line.
The low-cut design mirrors that of the AE 2, moving away from the mid-cut style of the original AE 1. The durable mesh upper is reinforced with TPU overlays in high-stress lateral zones. A sock-like interior offers an immediate, comfortable fit, while heel reinforcement ensures stability during intense movements.

Technology: Hyperboost makes its basketball debut.
This is the standout feature of the adult AE 3 and the reason this shoe differs from all previous models in the line.
The adult version (KH8542) features Hyperboost throughout the entire midsole. Hyperboost is Adidas`s lightest and most responsive foam; until now, it had only been used in high-end running shoes. Its introduction to basketball via the AE 3 represents a significant technical upgrade over the LightStrike Pro used in the AE 2, offering greater energy return, reduced weight, and enhanced responsiveness with every step. An integrated torsion plate provides necessary rigidity without sacrificing forefoot flexibility.
The Junior version (KH8585) features standard LightStrike cushioning; the Hyperboost logo does not appear on the heel of the kids` versions.
